Hello! I have just registered to your site. I have been very interested in the postings, especially about Robert Lacroix. I am searching for a Lacroix family line.. My Great Grandmother was Delima Lacroix (as we know of). Possibly another name that may be in front of Delima. She married Theodul I. Jolin in Biddeford Maine in 1903. I have a copy of her marriage certificate. Her father was Joseph Lacroix and mother is stated on marriage cert. as Anette Cahill. I have been told by several people in the older generations of my family that Delima was full Native American. I do not know which tribe or clan she was from. When I saw the picture here of Robert I felt the need to ask.. who were his family memebers were and where he had lived and what time frame. It appears that Delima moved alot.. I THINK she was born in Cananda.. moved to Ma or Me. possibly lived in CT also. Can anyone direct me to find records of Delima? Thank you for your time.. any help will be highly appreciated. Respectfully.. Genelady Welcome, freewebs.com visitor! To upload an image, click "Browse...", select an image, click OK/Open, and then click "host it!". After a short while, your image will upload. I have a record re. a Joseph LaCroix however, he is too young(he ws born in 1900) to be the Joseph you are looking for. As denney indicated, you shoud scan, save to your hard drive, and then upload a copy of this marriage certificate, which would help us in our search, or you can provide us with some vital don Delima and Joseph , such as dates of birth, date of death, place of birth and place of death. Do you know the names of any of their children and dates of birth,and/or death? this too would help us. Welcome to the website. We hope you will return often.

I am researching for any information concerning Chief Cloudman and his family through Mary Taliaferro Woodbury. Would you have the name of his daughter who married Lawrence Taliaferro? What were the names of his sons? Were any of his family held in prison after the massacre? My husband is a descendant of Cloudman. I am not sure of how to post a query. Judyg

Thanks Herman 11.. The Joseph that you speak of may have been a sibling or Delima's! Also I have no other information other than Delima's mother was Anette Cahill Lacroix and both parents were born in Canada. I will try to scan the marriage document. It will be later this summer as I am on my way to New England and Canada this week. Trying to dig up more information. Delima's son is Eugene Alcide Jolin, (my Grandfather) and we "think" he was born in Maine as it states that on the 1930 census from Worcester , MA. We are not sure of his birth date either but give or take five or so years from 1910. I have recently found a Joseph with familiar family given names but was listed as Langevin-Lacroix in Maine. That is the closest I have been so far! Thanks again and shall return. Genelady

I recently recieved Robertson family pictures from a relative, I e-mailed scanned copies to Sisseton-Wahpeton Historical Preservation. I am one of the great granddaughters of Thomas A Robertson. My grandfather was one of his children from his last marriage (to Ida Shortfoot), his name was James Wabashaw Robertson. These pictures (circa 1890's, 1909, 1910) are of my grandfather James Wabashaw Robertson holding a violin, as well as the "Robertson Indian Orchestra" in Veblin South Dakota. Some of the pictures have other people I can not identify. One picture in particular is an elder Thomas A Robertson with Ida Shortfoot and a very young James Wabashaw Robertson. I have other's of James Wabashaw Robertson with my Navajo grendmother, his second wife in New Mexico around 1940's.
If any one can identify some of these let me know and I will e-mail them.

Hello Beth, What a gift it is to receive photographs! You are lucky indeed. I would be most interested in seeing any photos of the Indian Orchestra. If you could post a few here, please go to photobucket.com, open a free account and upload them there. Then you can post the direct link to the photos here. (photobucket works better than imageshack) My family also resided near Veblen. I'm sure they knew your family. My GGrandfather also played the fiddle. Or if you want to send them directly to me, I would be happy to post them here for you. Welcome to the site and I hope you come back often. Vicky jandv@inebraska.com

Okay, I think I figured out this ImageShack site. Here's some family photos from an album I just posted. Follow link: img683.imageshack.us/g/grandmajanewoodard10g.jpg/Any help with John Booher, his wife Abigail Martin Booher or William Wells and Catherine Louisa Booher Wells would be much appreciated, when anybody has a chance. I know William did a lot in South Dakota, but have yet to find much info. of a biographical nature, good or bad about him. His brother Philip seems to have stolen much of the limelight, he and his father "Bully" Wells. So, any help would be much appreciated. Hope the photos are valuable to someone, they are to me. There are also the names, George Works Woodard, his wife Sarah Goss and Pearl Edson Woodard and his wife Abigail Jean "Jennie" Wells Woodard. Pearl and Jennie are in my album, I have a portrait of George and Sarah that I will post in there later. Sincerely, Utzer0n113
